Busy Body

Hello Dears! Whoo! It has been a BUSY week! With Joey's birthday party, and birthday lunch, and birthday dinner and everything in between we have been non stop busy! So busy in fact that my body is starting to shut down. Literally, I blacked out at work today and fell right on my bum! I came around to a very loud nurse who happened to be eating at the restaurant demanding that my  manager call an ambulance! Thankfully I was able to convince them that  that was not a very good idea and my good friend Leah was able to come pick me up. -Thanks Leah! But no worries! I was only out for a second! I'm all right and I got to go home early! I took a nice nap and it gave me time to post some new items on my etsy shop! YAY! Here are some pictures: Cool Right!? You can see more  here !  Some are a little blurry because they were taken with a not so fancy camera, but they get the job done, kind of.  Anyways, I know that I promised some pictures of our n

Finally!

Hello Everyone! I know it has been ages since my last post, (that seems to be the start to most of my post doesn't it?) Anyways, we have just been suuuuuper busy lately! In the last couple of months Joey and I have bought our first home and moved to College Station -which by the way has just been so fun! We spent quite a few nights sleeping on the floor but we have since fully furnished and decorated the whole apartment! (I'm quite proud of it if I do say so myself ;) Joey has burrowed hard into his studies -He is a mechanical engineering major at Texas A&M and I am a proud aggie wife! I have gotten a few jobs since I've been here. Jumping around a bit until I find the right one. Right now I am waiting tables at an adorable little restaurant called  Maddens  and I love it there! The food is to die for, the management is so nice and the owners are the sweetest little couple! There is one problem, I don't make a whole lot of money. So I picked up a 2nd job that'

Honeymoon Part Dos!

Hello Everyone! Sorry I've been out of touch the last few days. My husband and I are on part 2 of our honeymoon, -A Carribean Cruise! It has been such a blast! There is so much to do on and off the boat and there is so much food It's insane! It's literally like a 5-star hotel on the water! Almost everything is included, our meals, movie in the room, room service, broadway shows, and I have to say the tax and duty free shopping is wonderful! Of course we have had our mishaps. For example, we had just boarded the ship and it hadn't even left the dock yet but we decided to go ahead and get some lunch at the fancy restaurant just to check it out. It's beautiful by the way and the food is delicious! Anyway, I had just recieved my steak and I accidentally spilled my water all over myself and my food! It turned out OK though because our waiter just brought me a brand new steak! How crazy is that!? It was awesome! (except for the part where our suitcase hadn't been deli

A Little Peak

Hey guys! I hope your Sunday is going a relaxed as mine is :) Yesterday we went ice skating and the people at the skate rental place gave Joey some skates with toe picks on them (He had never used those before). As you can imagine he fell pretty hard... and hurt himself pretty bad. However, once he switched his skates out he was super duper fast again.(He is always the fastest person at the ice rink)  But the fall left him pretty sore, so we took the morning off and have been hanging around the casa. It has given me plenty of time to prepare a nice little sneak peak for my new shop that is launching in a few weeks. So here it is! These are a few of my favorites of the pieces I have been working on. So there you have it! A little taste of my work! Thanks for checking it out!  -Tabitha

Pre-Movie Blogpost

Hello friends :) It is Wednesday and tomorrow my husband takes his citizenship test as he is from England originally. He is a bit ridiculous in that he is only now picking up the 100 question study guide for the test. He will probably still get a 100 on the test simply because he is a genius. So frustrating for us regular folks who actually have to work hard just to seem smart.  I spent my day just hanging around the house cleaning things and working on my new online shop  Here is a link to the etsy and facebook page:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/AgainstTheWindDesign http://www.facebook.com/pages/Against-The-Wind/223030597739114 It seems so official! I have been planning on opening a shop of my own for a while now and it's actually about to happen! I am so excited! I will be selling all handmade jewelry to start out with and I will branch out eventually to hair accessories, scarfs, and at some point I'll start my own line of clothing :) We will see how it goes.  Anyways we are

The Day The Name Changed

Hello Mates! Today I want to highlight the wedding that I recently took part in... as the bride! There were so many details that went into the wedding and the day went by so fast that i simply did not get a chance to share the meaning behind so many things with so many people. So I will do it here! Lets start with the dresses. Yes I wore two different dresses but I had a good reason I promise! The first dress has an amazing story. Joey and I had been dating for maybe a week, (hardly long enough to be talking about wedding plans) and my mother called me up from a goodwill store. "Tabitha, you have to come here and try on this wedding gown!" A little confused but always willing to play dress up I got in the car and drove to goodwill. When I saw the dress, I knew that it wasn't the one but in order to please my mother I put it on anyways. After it was all zipped up I turned around and looked at myself in the mirror. Rarely does a dress (much less a wedding dress) fit me pe

The Iowa Adventure

Hey guys! Wow! It's already been almost a week since my first post! I'm just so exhausted when we get back to our hotel room every night to even think about writing a whole blog post! Joe and I are in Burlington, Iowa at the moment working on a job for my dad's company, North American Survey Corporation (or NASCORP for short). We basically have 155 miles that we are supposed to walk. Here is a video of what we do: My dad chose this job specifically for us because it was Joe's first time and it was supposed to be an easy one. Well, we get out on the right of way (The path we are supposed to walk) and it looks like this: So we are either pushing our way through very tall very thorny bushes, or we are navigating our way through very tall very sharp corn (which was only supposed to be ankle tall by now) :(  In two weeks we have made it  about 30 miles. So after walking through that all day Joey looks like this : Isn't he adorable? But today is our last day here so

Hello friends! Thank you for checking out my first blog ever! I'm so excited to get this started! As many of you know, I am newly married. Here is a picture of my wonderful husband...  Well, I had just cooked dinner for both of our parents and we were all sitting down enjoying each other's company while I was sharing some of the crazy things that had happened to us that day and the few days that had passed and both of our mothers piped up and said that I should start a blog... and here we are!  This blog will contain everything from funny stories of our newlywed life to things that I find interesting in fashion and everything in between! I hope you enjoy yourself here!
